Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the song “Terbuang Dalam Waktu” as background music in shaping audience emotions in the film Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan. Background music plays an important role in film by enhancing atmosphere and deepening narrative meaning. This research employs a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method, with data collected through an online questionnaire distributed to film viewers. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to measure audience perceptions and levels of emotional engagement with the interaction between background music and visual elements. The findings indicate that “Terbuang Dalam Waktu” contributes to evoking audience emotions, particularly feelings of sadness, romance, and nostalgia. Musical characteristics such as minor tonality and slow tempo create a melancholic atmosphere that aligns with the film’s themes of time, loss, and self-acceptance.
