Pembelajaran sosial-emosional merupakan sebuah kerangka kerja yang dikembangkan oleh Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran sosial-emosional mampu memberikan dampak positif terhadap prestasi akademik atau hasil belajar peserta didik. Sehingga, pembelajaran sosial-emosional dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Kelebihan dari pembelajaran sosial-emosional ini bukan hanya hasil belajar yang ditingkatkan, tetapi berbagai aspek lain pun dapat dipengaruhi secara signifikan. Pada penerapannya di sekolah, pembelajaran sosial-emosional ini dapat menggunakan program seperti Social Decision Making and Social Problem Solving (SDM/SPS) dan The Resolving Conflict Creatively Program (RCCP).
