Register Percakapan Tulis Antartokoh dalam Novel Remaja di Aplikasi Wattpad

Abstract: Based on Halliday and Hasan (1992), language is influenced by the situation. This study raises the characteristics and functions of registers on teen novel dialogues as the study focuses on intending to describe both. The data that is in the form of utterances are available in the Zona Mantan novel, which has been selected based on purposive sampling technique or selection with predetermined criteria. The data were collected using the method of listening and note-taking technique. The data analysis utilizes the intralingual and the extralingual matching methods with the appealing technique to equate the main points. This study resulted in 12 categories of register characteristics, there are (1) sound change, (2) abbreviation, (3) reduplication, (4) affixation, (5) walikan variety, (6) prokem language, (7) regional language, (8 ) foreign language, (9) greeting words, (10) change of meaning, (11) monomorphemic verbs, and (12) colloquial vocabularies. These characteristics indicate that informal situations affect the conversational utterances in teen novels. In addition, language represents the character's identity as a modern youth. The registers in these utterances function as (1) emotive functions, (2) conative functions, (3) referential functions, and (4) phatic functions.

Abstrak: Berdasarkan teori Halliday dan Hasan (1992), bahasa dipengaruhi oleh situasi. Penelitian ini mengangkat ciri dan fungsi register pada dialog novel remaja sebagai fokus penelitian dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan keduanya. Data yang berbentuk ujaran tersedia dalam novel Zona Mantan yang telah dipilih berdasarkan teknik purposive sampling atau pemilihan dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode simak dan teknik catat. Adapun analisis data memanfaatkan metode padan intralingual dan ekstralingual dengan teknik hubung banding menyamakan hal pokok. Penelitian ini menghasilkan 12 kategori ciri register, yaitu (1) perubahan bunyi, (2) pemendekan, (3) reduplikasi, (4) afiksasi, (5) ragam walikan, (6) bahasa prokem, (7) bahasa daerah, (8) bahasa asing, (9) kata sapaan, (10) perubahan makna, (11) verba monomorfemis, dan (12) kosakata kolokial. Ciri tersebut menunjukkan bahwa situasi informal mempengaruhi kosakata ujaran percakapan pada dialog di novel remaja. Selain itu, bahasa merepresentasikan identitas tokoh sebagai kaum muda yang modern. Adapun register dalam ujaran ini berfungsi sebagai (1) fungsi emotif, (2) fungsi konatif, (3) fungsi referensial, dan (4) fungsi fatik.
