Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to analyze the effect of Small Sided Games (SSG) on aerobic and anaerobic endurance capacity in soccer players aged 13 to 14 years. The study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method through a pretest posttest two-group design. The study sample consisted of 30 SSB Roksi students who were divided into experimental and control groups using ordinal pairing techniques to ensure equality of initial abilities. The instruments used included the Multistage Fitness Test (MSFT) to measure aerobic endurance and the Running based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) to measure anaerobic endurance. The treatment in the form of SSG training was given for 8 weeks with a frequency of 3 times per week. Data analysis was carried out using a paired sample t test to see changes within groups and an independent sample t test to compare differences between groups, and was equipped with effect size calculations. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in aerobic endurance (p less than 0.05) with a large effect size (d equal to 1.12) and showed a significantly higher increase compared to the control group (d 1.20). In contrast, in anaerobic endurance, no significant increase was found in the group (p less than 0.05) with a small effect size (d equal to 0.36), and the difference between groups showed a very small effect size (d less than 0.20). Thus, SSG is effective in significantly increasing aerobic endurance capacity compared to the control group, but is not yet effective in increasing anaerobic endurance, so it needs to be combined with other, more specific training methods.

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Small Sided Games (SSG) terhadap kapasitas daya tahan aerobik dan anaerobik pada pemain sepak bola usia 13 sampai 14 tahun. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen melalui desain pretest posttest two group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa SSB Roksi yang dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol menggunakan teknik ordinal pairing untuk memastikan kesetaraan kemampuan awal. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi Multistage Fitness Test (MSFT) untuk mengukur daya tahan aerobik dan Running based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) untuk mengukur daya tahan anaerobik. Perlakuan berupa latihan SSG diberikan selama 8 minggu dengan frekuensi 3 kali per minggu. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji paired sample t test untuk melihat perubahan dalam kelompok dan independent sample t test untuk membandingkan perbedaan antar kelompok, serta dilengkapi dengan perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen mengalami peningkatan signifikan pada daya tahan aerobik (p lebih kecil dari 0,05) dengan effect size besar (d  sama dengan 1,12) dan menunjukkan peningkatan yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (d  1,20). Sebaliknya, pada daya tahan anaerobik tidak ditemukan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kelompok (p lebih kecil dari 0,05) dengan effect size kecil (d sama dengan 0,36), serta perbedaan antar kelompok menunjukkan effect size yang sangat kecil (d lebih kecil dari 0,20). Dengan demikian, SSG efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas daya tahan aerobik secara signifikan dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, namun belum efektif untuk meningkatkan daya tahan anaerobik, sehingga perlu dikombinasikan dengan metode latihan lain yang lebih spesifik.
