Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to test the effectiveness of a flexibility training program on increasing sprint speed in 100 meter athletes. Twenty athletes were divided into two groups: an experimental group that underwent an eight week flexibility training program and a control group that only underwent routine training without additional flexibility training. Flexibility was measured using a sit and reach test, while sprint speed was measured using a 100 meter sprint test. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in flexibility (p equal to 0.001) and a significant decrease in sprint time (p equal to 0.002) in the experimental group compared to the control group. The flexibility training program was shown to increase joint range of motion, muscle elasticity, and neuromuscular coordination, which resulted in increased efficiency and speed of movement. Thus, integrating flexibility training into a sprint training program can improve athlete performance while reducing the risk of injury.

Pengukuran fleksibilitas dilakukan menggunakan tes sit and reach, sedangkan kecepatan lari diukur melalui uji lari 100 meter.
