Abstract

Abstract: Some of the benefits obtained are such as the goal of this literature review, which is to determine whether sports participation and circadian rhythms, sympathetic nervous system disorders, and body metabolism. The findings of the conducted literature review indicate that There are several benefits that might felt, including (1) improving circadian rhythms or improving sleep quality, because after doing sports activities the body will experience fatigue so that the NREM (Non Rapid Eye Movement) sleep phase is shortened and can increase both the amount and quality of sleep; (2) reducing sympathetic nervous system disorders such as stress or anxiety because exercising can reduce levels of epinephrine and cortisol hormones which are also known as stress hormones; and (3) facilitating body metabolism so that excessive fat or lactic acid accumulation can be reduced. Consequently, it may be said that there is a connection between sports and circadian rhythms, sympathetic nervous system disorders, and body metabolism.

Abstrak: Olahraga menjadi bagian dari gaya hidup utamanya untuk menjaga kesehatan. Beberapa manfaat yang didapat tercantum dalam penelitian study literature yang dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada korelasi antara aktivitas olahraga melalui irama sirkadian, gangguan sistem saraf simpatik, dan metabolisme tubuh. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan study literature dengan melakukan penelusuran ke banyak literatur, seperti buku, artikel, jurnal, dan dokumen-dokumen terkait yang dibahas. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian literatur sebelumnya, terdapat beberapa manfaat yang dapat dirasakan diantaranya adalah (1) memperbaiki irama sirkadian atau meningkatkan kualitas tidur, karena setelah melakukan aktivitas olahraga tubuh akan mengalami kelelahan sehingga fase tidur NREM (Non Rapid Eye Movement) diperpendek dan dapat meningkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas tidur; (2) mengurangi gangguan sistem saraf simpatik seperti stress atau kecemasan karena dengan berolahraga dapat mengurangi tingkat hormon kortisol dan epineprin, yang juga dikenal sebagai hormon stress; dan (3) mempercepat metabolisme tubuh, yang dapat mengurangi penimbunan asam laktat atau lemak yang berlebihan. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan antara aktifitas olahraga dan irama sirkadian dengan gangguan sistem saraf simpatik, dan metabolisme tubuh.
