Abstract

Abstract: Patient safety is the main indicator in the health service system in hospitals. Patient safety is influenced by the burnout condition of doctors. The prevalence of burnout reaches 14.4 percent (high), 65.8 percent (moderate), and 19.8 percent (low). As a result, burnout experienced by doctors can have an impact on patient safety. This study aims to determine the relationship between doctor burnout and patient safety in hospitals based on the results of previous studies between 2019-2023. The research method used is a literature review with a PRISMA (Preferred Reporting for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis) flow diagram. The article search database uses Google Scholar (2520) and Pubmed (95) in the last five years that match the specified topics and inclusion criteria. The articles found will be screened in the form of duplicate articles, full paper access, topic suitability, and abstracts. Furthermore, the article will be tested for feasibility and 6 articles will be produced. Based on the results of the literature review, it shows that the majority of articles have a significant relationship between doctor burnout and patient safety in hospitals. Patient safety or medical errors are caused by other factors such as age, depression, and doctor welfare. Doctors' internal conditions, depression or stress, workload and other external factors can predict burnout. Burnout in doctors can have serious implications for patient safety, thus providing low health services to patients.
