Abstract: The presence of cockroaches is an indicator of good or bad sanitation because they can transmit various diseases, which can also affect the ship's sanitation indicators. This study aims to analyze the relationship between cargo ship sanitation and the presence of cockroaches at Tanjung Perak Port, with an analytical study using a cross sectional design. This research instrument uses a ship sanitation inspection form which has been validated and reliable by BBKK Surabaya. The sample for this research was 55 cargo ships taken by accidental sampling. The variables in this research are ship sanitation which includes kitchen sanitation, food raft space, warehouse sanitation, hatches, trash cans, and the presence of cockroaches. The research results showed that 32 ships (58.%) had a low sanitation risk and 48 ships (87.3%) had a low risk of cockroach presence, and galley sanitation has the most significant relationship with the presence of cockroaches with a p-value of 0.000. Efforts that can be made include continuing to maintain the sanitation of cargo ships so that they remain healthy by the ship's crew and direct supervision from BBKK Surabaya officers, as well as the implementation of control measures that need to be increased in response to the discovery of cockroaches on board.
Abstrak: Keberadaan kecoa menjadi salah satu indikator baik atau buruknya sanitasi karena dapat menularkan berbagai penyakit, termasuk sanitasi kapal. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan sanitasi kapal kargo dengan keberadaan kecoa di Pelabuhan Tanjung Perak, dengan studi analitik menggunakan desain cross sectional. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan form inspeksi sanitasi kapal yang telah tervalidasi dan terealibilitas oleh BBKK Surabaya. Sampel penelitian ini merupakan kapal kargo sebanyak 55 kapal yang diambil secara accidental sampling. Variabel penelitian yaitu sanitasi kapal. meliputi sanitasi dapur, ruang rakit makanan, sanitasi gudang, palka, tempat sampah, serta keberadaan kecoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 32 kapal (58,%) memiliki risiko sanitasi rendah dan sebanyak 48 kapal (87,3%) berisiko rendah dari keberadaan kecoa, serta sanitasi dapur memiliki hubungan yang paling signifikan dengan keberadaan kecoa memiliki hubungan dengan p-value sebesar 0,000. Upaya yang perlu dilakukan yaitu meningkatkan sanitasi kapal kargo agar tetap sehat oleh ABK kapal, pengawasan secara langsung dari petugas BBKK Surabaya, dan menguatkan koordinasi antara pihak kapal dan BBKK untuk pelaksanaan tindakan pengendalian sebagai respon atas penemuan kecoa di kapal.
