Abstract

Abstract: Interprofessional education (IPE) is an essential strategy for preparing students in health sciences careers, where teamwork and collaboration are essential competencies. Despite the fact that it is regarded a necessity for accreditation in the majority of health science disciplines, little is known about the perceptions of students of IPE in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to determine student readiness and perceptions of interprofessional learning in the university. Students in the second-year in public health program, Universitas Negeri Malang participated in a survey in February 2023 to establish a baseline of readiness and perception toward IPE. The study included an adaption of the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS) and the Interprofessional Education Perceptions Scale (IEPS) questionnaires. To determine the description of readiness and perceptions of IPE, descriptive statistics were used. Public health students had positive readiness and perception of IPE. It suggested that institutions form special working groups to manage IPE. Further studies were suggested to explore technical learning models of IPE.
