Pengaruh Beban Kerja dan Dukungan Sosial terhadap Stres Kerja Pegawai di Politeknik AMI Medan

The increasing complexity and demands of work have made job stress one of the most prevalent psychological problems experienced by employees, including those in higher education settings. This study aims to analyze the effect of workload and social support on employees’ job stress levels at Politeknik AMI Medan. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling, involving 60 respondents consisting of academic staff and administrative employees. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that workload has a significant positive effect on increasing job stress, while social support has a significant negative effect on reducing job stress. Simultaneously, both variables are able to explain a substantial proportion of the variance in employees’ job stress. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of implementing proportional workload management and strengthening social support in the workplace in order to create a healthier work environment and support employees’ psychological well-being.
Abstrak
Meningkatnya kompleksitas dan tuntutan pekerjaan menjadikan stres kerja sebagai salah satu permasalahan psikologis yang banyak dialami oleh pegawai, termasuk di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh beban kerja dan dukungan sosial terhadap tingkat stres kerja pegawai di Politeknik AMI Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 60 orang yang terdiri dari tenaga pendidik dan tenaga administrasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beban kerja berdampak positif signifikan terhadap peningkatan stres kerja, sedangkan dukungan sosial berdampak negatif signifikan terhadap penurunan stres kerja. Secara simultan, kedua variabel tersebut mampu menjelaskan sebagian besar variasi stres kerja pegawai. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pengelolaan beban kerja yang proporsional serta penguatan dukungan sosial di lingkungan kerja guna menciptakan kondisi kerja yang lebih sehat dan mendukung kesejahteraan psikologis pegawai.
