Marital satisfaction is an important indicator in assessing the quality of the relationship between spouses and contributes to psychological well-being and family stability. With the evolving dynamics of society and culture, studies on the determinants of marital satisfaction have become increasingly complex and require a systematic approach. This study aims to identify and map various factors influencing marital satisfaction through a scoping review method. The approach follows the PRISMA-ScR guidelines and employs the PEOS framework (Population, Exposure, Outcome, Study Design) to establish article selection criteria. Data were collected from two main databases, namely Google Scholar and PopCites.id, using relevant keywords and involving 10 empirical articles published between 2019 and 2024. The findings indicate that marital satisfaction is influenced by a combination of psychological, interpersonal, and sociocultural factors, such as emotion regulation, religiosity, communication, marital symbolism, gender norms, and psychological well-being. This review also highlights the variation in findings based on different cultural and social contexts. Therefore, understanding marital satisfaction must take into account specific local dynamics and adopt a multidisciplinary approach to ensure that developed interventions are more effective and applicable.
