Abstract

Students generally undergo lecture activities to prepare themselves to enter the workforce. However, in reality, many university graduates are still not working. Hardiness personality is often associated with an individual's ability to deal with pressure, in this case, faced by them when entering the world of work. This study aims to determine the role of hardiness personality attributes in predicting work readiness in final-year students. Respondents in this study amounted to 157 final-year students who were collected using the accidental sampling technique. Work readiness is measured by adapting the work readiness scale of Caballero's Work Readiness Scale (WRS) (2011) and personality hardiness is measured by using the Dispositional Resilience Scale or DRS-15 developed by Bartone (2013). Data analysis techniques and hypothesis testing were carried out using a simple linear regression research method using JASP software version 0.16.4. The results showed that hardiness personality played a significant role in predicting work readiness in final-year students, with an effective contribution value of 0.195, or 19.5%.

Abstrak
Mahasiswa pada umumnya menjalani kegiatan perkuliahan untuk mempersiapkan dirinya dalam memasuki lapangan pekerjaan. Walau demikian, pada kenyataannya masih banyak dari lulusan perguruan tinggi yang belum bekerja. Kepribadian hardiness seringkali dikaitkan dengan kemampuan individu dalam menghadapi tekanan, dalam hal ini dihadapi oleh mereka dalam memasuki dunia kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran atribut kepribadian hardiness dalam memprediksi kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 157 mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Kesiapan kerja diukur dengan mengadaptasi skala kesiapan kerja Work Readiness Scale (WRS) milik Caballero (2011) dan kepribadian hardiness diukur dengan menggunakan skala Dispositional Resilience Scale atau DRS-15 yang dikembangkan oleh Bartone (2013). Teknik analisis data serta uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian regresi linear sederhana dengan menggunakan software JASP versi 0.16.4. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepribadian hardiness berperan signifikan dalam memprediksikan kesiapan kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir, dengan nilai kontribusi efektif sebesar 0.195, atau 19.5%.
