Strategi Mahasiswa/i Pengurus Organisasi dalam Mengatasi Ketidakberdayaan yang Dipelajari (Learned Helplessness)

Abstract: The student organization is a forum located in the campus area with the aim of developing student soft skills. However, the reality found in the field shows that the helplessness that is learned due to the various pressures experienced by students can arise from the organizations that are involved. This research is about to examine the strategies used by student administrators of organizations against powerlessness. This research is qualitative by using phenomenological method. Collecting data in this study using interview and observation techniques. This study found that learned helplessness can be overcome by focusing on problems (psychology, asking for help, problem-solving planning, persistence, and time management) and emotions (calming, crying, positive meaning, me-time, and avoiding). There are several factors that influence the success of organizational management student strategies in overcoming learned helplessness, namely friends, family, and one's own abilities.
Abstrak: Organisasi mahasiswa merupakan suatu wadah yang berada di wilayah kampus dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan softskill mahasiswa. Akan tetapi, kenyataan yang ditemukan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa ketidakberdayaan yang dipelajari karena berbagai tekanan yang dialami oleh mahasiswa dapat muncul dari organisasi yang diikuti. Penelitian ini hendak mengkaji strategi yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pengurus organisasi terhadap ketidakberdayaan. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini memanfaatkan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ketidakberdayaan yang dipelajari dapat diatasi dengan terfokus pada masalah (keilmuan psikologi, meminta bantuan, perencanaan penyelesaian masalah, sikap gigih, dan manajemen waktu) dan emosi (tenang, menangis, pemaknaan positif, me-time, dan menghindar). Terdapat beberapa faktor yang memengaruhi keberhasilan strategi mahasiswa pengurus organisasi dalam mengatasi ketidakberdayaan yang dipelajari, yaitu teman, keluarga, dan kemampuan diri sendiri.
