Mitos dan Realitas Orang Terpilih dalam Film The Da Vinci Code

Artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural Campbell dan Vogler tentang hero’s journey yang memiliki struktur serupa dengan mitos di berbagai belahan dunia. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis struktur perjalanan tokoh sampingan, Sophie Neveu, dalam film The Da Vinci Code. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi pola hero’s journey yang dilalui Sophie Neveu serta transformasi psikologis yang dialaminya sepanjang alur cerita. Metode penelitian yang digunakan berupa analisis naratif kualitatif, yang mencakup kajian karakter, motif, serta struktur narasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perjalanan hero dalam film ini tidak sepenuhnya mengikuti struktur monomyth secara kaku. The Da Vinci Code menyajikan narasi yang lebih kompleks, karena turut mempertimbangkan aspek ideologi, agama, serta dinamika psikologis tokohnya. Penelitian ini juga menyoroti bahwa representasi hero dalam film ini bersifat ambigu, sebab alur perjalanan tokoh tidak selalu sejalan dengan pola hero tradisional yang umum. Selain itu, analisis ini mengungkap adanya kritik sosial dan refleksi identitas dalam film, yang memperkaya makna perjalanan hero secara naratif maupun tematik.
