Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the forms and inhibiting factors of social interaction between Christian and Muslim students at FISH Unima. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results showed that Christian and Muslim students had a good relationship. They put forward a high attitude and tolerance by accepting and appreciating the differences that exist. (1) the forms of interaction that exist between Christian and Muslim students are associative and dissociative. The form of cooperation is established in intercurricular and extracurricular activities. The form of accommodation is that they mutually prevent disputes and conflicts from occurring with an attitude of tolerance while the dissociative form is in the form of competition in academic terms, (2) as for the inhibiting factors in interactions between Christian and Muslim students. Internal factors are introverted, introverted, shy and insecure as well as the views of Christian students who say Islamic students seem fanatical and language differences are also an obstacle to the interaction process between the two. External factors, namely behavior and unfavorable responses from Islamic students when asked to communicate by Christian students and Islamic students tend to limit themselves to socializing.

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana bentuk dan faktor penghambat interaksi sosial antar mahasiswa beragama Kristen dan Islam di FISH Unima. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa beragama kristen dan islam menjalin hubungan yang baik. Mereka sangat mengedepankan sikap dan rasa toleransi yang tinggi dengan menerima dan menghargai perbedaan yang ada. (1) bentuk-bentuk interaksi yang terjalin antara mahasiswa kristen dan islam bersifat asosiatif dan disosiatif. Bentuk kerja sama terjalin dalam kegiatan interakurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler Bentuk akomodasi yaitu mereka saling mencegah terjadinya pertikaian dan pertentangan dengan sikap toleransi sedangkan bentuk disosiatif berupa kompetisi dalam hal akademik, (2) adapun faktor penghambat dalam interaksi antara mahasiswa kristen dan islam. Faktor internal yaitu sifat introvert, tertutup, rasa malu dan tidak percaya diri serta adanya pandangan dari mahasiswa kristen yang mengatakan mahasiswa islam terkesan fanatik dan perbedaan bahasa juga menjadi kendala proses interaksi antara keduanya. Faktor eksternal yaitu perilaku dan respon yang kurang baik dari mahasiswa islam ketika diajak berkomunikasi oleh mahasiswa kristen dan mahasiswa islam cenderung membatasi diri untuk bergaul.
